Every Fair Trust Reform release follows the same numbering, status, and version-control system — so you always know exactly what you're reading, and whether something has changed since you last read it.
Each substantive publication receives a permanent identifier — FTR-### — allocated sequentially and never reused, even if the publication is later withdrawn. A suffix marks a controlled variant's relationship to its parent:
A status label alone doesn't clear a document for release — every publication, whatever its status, passes a privacy and metadata review first.
Draft, not yet released
First approved release
Minor corrections or additions
Material revision — changed conclusions or analysis
Before anything is released: content is checked against source material, legal and statutory references are verified, personal information is minimised, comments and tracked changes are removed, document metadata is reviewed, and the final PDF is visually inspected. We never publish a working file with editing history still attached — a clean copy is generated from the approved source.
